Committee to Elect Colleen Dawicki
c/o Jeremy Dagold, Treasurer
31 Grove Street
New Bedford, MA 02740
All New Bedford School Committee seats are effectively at-large: that is, candidates must run for election citywide, rather than in their wards like most City Council seats. Running a citywide election and reaching the voters among New Bedford’s nearly 100,000 residents will be hard work, and it will also cost money. How much? Conversations with past School Committee candidates and a review of campaign finance records for past elections suggest I’ll need between $5,000-8,000 for costs like lawn signs, printed materials, mailings, and any advertising I might do. I plan to keep this page updated with my spending so that my donors can see what their contributions are helping to fund, and so prospective future candidates can get a better understanding of what it costs to run for office in New Bedford.
